Ingredients. Makes 2 servings.
1-2 cups spinach, chard,or kale [begin with spinach as it's the mildest]
1/4 cup cilantro, stems removed
1 cup frozen berries, blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, cranberries
1/2 green banana [adds a boost of resistant starch and pectin to improve digestion and lower blood sugar levels.]
1 cup coconut or almond milk [choose full fat coconut milk from the can or unsweetened almond milk with the fewest ingredients]
1 cup filtered water
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. turmeric
1 tbsp. chia seeds [great sourcce of omega fatty acids, supports digetive health, rich in iron, calcium, B-vitamins]
1 tbsp. hemp hearts [ Reserve for top of smoothie. This will encourage you to "chew your smoothie" to improve your digestion!]
Method
Add ingredients to blender in this order;
spinach & cilantro
water and nut milk
banana
cinnamon, chia seeds, turmeric
frozen berries
Pulse ingredients to break down, then blend at high speed until smooth.
Pour into 2 glasses and add hemp hearts and enjoy!
