When you've had eggs too many mornings, but want to eat a protein, low-sugar breakfast - try this easy make ahead meal. The oatmeal has been replaced with hemp, flax and chia seeds that boosts nutrition and flavor by adding more protein, fiber and omega 3 fats. How delicious is this?
Ingredients.
Makes 4 servings.
1/2 cup hemp hearts
1/2 cup chia seeds
1/2 cup ground flax seeds
1/4 cup cacao powder [may use cocoa powder]
1 tbsp. monk sugar, optional [may use another sweetener]
1/4 cup almond butter [just almonds and salt.]
2 tsp. vanilla extract
1 tsp. cinnamon
pinch of sea salt
4 cups unsweetened almond milk
1 cup frozen or fresh berries
Method.
In a large bowl, combine hemp, chia, flax, cacao powder, salt, cinnamon and sweetener. Mix well.
Add almond butter, vanilla and almond milk and mix thoroughly.
In 4 jars with lids, add 1 tbsp. berries to bottom of each jar.
Divide the 'Noats' evenly into the jars.
Top each jar with 1 tbsp. berries.
Cover and refrigerate overnight.
To Serve.
Top 'Noats' with coconut flakes and chopped nuts. Drizzle with almond butter.
