Who doesn't love a salty-sweet, crunchy treat that's easy to make and share with your family and friends at Christmas.
Ingredients.
2 cups raw almonds
1 1/2 cups raw cashews
1 1/2 cups raw pecans
3 tbsp. coconut sugar
2 tsp. kosher salt
1 tsp. garlic powder
1 tsp. smoked paprika
1 tsp. chipolte powder
1 egg white
2 tbsp. fresh orange juice
2 tsp. fresh orange zest
2 tsp. avocado oil
Method.
Heat oven to 300 degrees.
Line a sheet pan with foil or parchment paper.
In a small bowl combine; coconut sugar, orange zest, salt, garlic powder, smoked paprika, chipolte powder and salt.
In a large bowl; beat egg white and orange juice together until frothy.
Add the spice mixture, orange zest, and avocado oil to egg white mixture and mix well.
Add mixed nuts and toss together until well coated.
Pour nuts onto lined sheet pan and spread out evenly.
Bake for 25-30 minutes until toasted.
Allow nuts to cool completely.
Notes.
You can use any combination of nuts - pumpkin seeds, walnuts, or pistachios are delicious too.
Add dried fruit, toasted coconut chips, rosemary or chocolate to nuts after baking.
Place nuts into small bags or mason jars for yummy gifts.
